Modern British Sculpture
Three as well as two dimensional 20th century British art is one of the most exciting areas of the market. Being of relatively recent creation there are seldom concerns over condition or restoration. The quality is consistently high, a fact which the rapidly rising prices over the last 20 years now fully reflects. This instantly recognisable bronze maquette of Ivor Roberts Jones’ Churchill monument in Parliament Square is a case in point. It was sold as a limited edition in the early 1970s for £42,000. Semi-abstract works by Henry Moore and F E McWilliam to name but two have also been a feature of recent sales. Prints by sculptors such as Moore and Barbara Hepworth are also highly prized and there is usually something of interest in this field to be found in Mellors & Kirk Fine Sales. If you have a work that you are considering selling please do not hesitate to contact Nigel Kirk at nkirk@mellorsandkirk.com 0115 979 0000 or 07702 159256.
Sculpture is included in all Mellors & Kirk Sales, including our curated two-day monthly Antique & Collectors Sales.
