Two volumes, atlas folio (66.5 x 45.5 cms), limited edition number 93 of 175 copies SIGNED IN INK BY PRINCE CHARLES to his Preface in volume 1. In total there are 124 fine colour facsimile plates of botanical watercolours by Anne O'Connor, Beverly Allen, Josephine Elwes, Jenny Phillips, Sally Grosthwaite, Jill Coombs, and many others, each signed in pencil by the artist and with the plate and edition number in pencil over the embossed copyright blindstamp of A G Carrick Ltd to lower outer corner, the plates printed on American Cotton paper with the text on 'Somerset Bookwove', text decorations and endpaper pattern by Richard Shirley Smith. Finely bound in the original dark red quarter goatskin, gilt, by Stephen Conway after a design by James Brockman, with gilt hand-tooling by James and Stuart Brockman, dark green goatskin oval onlays to upper boards with gilt lettering and the Prince of Wales' feathers, dark red goatskin board fore-edges, hand-made marbled paper, block-edges speckled. A very fine and most handsome set of this magnificently-produced work (2)
