A FINE AND RARE PAIR OF GEORGE III SHEFFIELD PLATE POCKET FLASKS, C1790 one engraved Spirits of Wine, the silver plug removed from the neck by inserting the screw-cap, 18cm hIllustrated: Crosskey, 2013, fig 478.Exceptional in both quality and condition, these elegant flasks were constructed from two flattened conical sections joined at the waist, the seam hidden by the applied silver reeding, the screw caps are mounted with a short length of threaded brass which screws into the tightly fitting silver plug or bung, necessary to prevent evaporation
