AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF 45 X 107MM GLASS SLIDES, 1910-13 including Nottingham, Trent Bridge, the Arboretum, Guildhall, Wilford, Bulwell, Hucknall including the vicarage by moonlight, Linby, Papplewick, Pleasley, Rock Hill Dwellings Mansfield, Annesley Park, events including the National Coal Strike, coronation celebrations, burnt out shop, stone laying and street scenes, the solar eclipse 1912, visit of Bostock & Wombwell's menagerie, London, including unusual subjects eg Willesden Green brick making, the Empire Theatre and St Pancras Station both by sight, London Zoo and the funeral of Edward VII, Eastbourne, including the 'Daily Mail' waterplane 1912, Grimsby Docks, Cleethorpes, York, Bradford, Leeds, Halifax and many others, in wood or card boxes, with a Veriscope Richard viewer (approx 600)It is possible, given the subjects and initials on some of the captions, that the unknown keen amateur photographer was a member of the family or acquaintance of the Rev. Thomas Gerrard Barber (1876-1952) Vicar of Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire 1907-1946. He was the author of Byron and Where he is Buried, 1939.
