A CAUGHLEY FLUTED GILT CREAM JUG TEA BOWL AND COFFEE CUP, C1788-93 jug 6cm h, gilder's numeral 1 to jugDescribed as "fade-away" reeds in 1989, p108, these are a rare "reeded bute" shape. The tea bowl appears to be a prototype, the reeds perhaps carved rather than moulded.
