A CAUGHLEY OVAL TEAPOT AND MATCHING TEA BOWL, C1788-93 enamelled with the Flaming Pearl pattern, teapot 11.5cm h, with a reproduction cover (3)A Chamberlain order dated 10th May 1793 included "1 large oval teapot new model." This is the earliest reference of the transition to oval shapes. The pattern is the same as the New Hall factory's No 202.
