A CHINESE EXPORT SILVER REPOUSSÉ CIGAR CASE, C1840 11.5cm, maker's mark C W S G in separate punches, 7oz 10dwtsThe maker may be the firm of Chewshing of Canton, active from 1835 to c 1850. The mark, which is quite rare, is normally found on flatware; see Forbes (H A Crosby), et al, Chinese Export Silver 1785 to 1885, Massachusetts 1975, p107, Nos 73, 74 and p254.
