HENRY STRACHEY (1863-1940) PORTRAIT OF LYTTON STRACHEY signed and dated April 19-28 1898, oil on canvas, 67 x 30cmThe present portrait of the eminent author and critic Lytton Strachey (1880-1932) would appear to be a hitherto unrecorded version of that by his cousin Henry Strachey which was executed four years earlier. It was reproduced as the frontispiece to Sir Edward Strachey's Talk at a Country House Fact and Fiction (Cambridge 1894).
