A RARE GEORGE III PAINTED PADOUK SQUARE HEADED TRUNCHEON, DATED 1805 with turned vase shaped finial and double baluster handle, the head painted with the 1801-16 royal arms of the United Kingdom, of Plymouth and emblem of the Hospital of the Poor's Portion, the fourth face, with cipher and the date 1805 in an oval of pearls, 52cmAnother example of the same form and decoration but of lighter wood and dated 1837 is in Plymouth Museum.
