AN ENGLISH GOLD MOURNING RING, 1831 the oblong tablet inset with a painted miniature of a human skull in split pearl surround, on fluted and chased gold hoop, pierced shoulders, the underside engraved Hester Grazebrook Ob 27 June 1831 At 78, 3.6g, size N½Hester (Esther) Grazebrook, nee Tombs, wife of Joseph Grazebrook of Far Hill, Painswick, Gloucestershire. Far Hill was built by Benjamin Grazebrook, the Stroud Banker. He was succeeded by his son who was also a partner in the Stroud Brewery. Both father and son were promoters of the Stroudwater Canal, 1774-9. Hester Grazebrook was buried in Bisley churchyard, Gloucestershire.
