A FRENCH SILVER GILT BEAKER of slightly flared, shaped oval section with moulded rim, above an engraved band of rocaille, applied with lambrequins alternating with bell flowers, on domed and moulded foot, 9.3cm h, by Johann Ludwig II Imlin, Strasbourg, c 1730, 6ozs 12dwtsA similar example is illustrated Dennis (F), Three Centuries of French Domestic Silver in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York 1960, vol 1, plt 543. A practically identical example was offered Sotheby's, Paris, 12 April 2018, lot 234.
