A REGENCY GRAND TOUR STATUARY MARBLE VASE, C1800-20 of campana shape with entwined serpent handles, bowl 76cm diamProvenance: Presumed to have been acquired by William Bagot, Lord Bagot, FSA, DCL (1773-1856) and depicted in the Conservatory at Blithfield Hall, Staffordshire in 1852 in a watercolour by his niece Charlotte Sneyd 1800-1882) of Keele Hall (for this watercolour see 'Country Life', April 17 1997, cover illustration); thence by descent at Blithfield Hall to Nancy, Lady Bagot (d 2014).
