GEORGE ROBERTSON (1776-1833) WOODED CLASSICAL LANDSCAPE WITH AN ARTIST IN THE FOREGROUND signed verso and inscribed Composition, pencil, 20.5 x 33.5cm and a study for a watercolour attributed to the same en grisaille (2)George Robertson moved from London to Derby where he was one of Duesbury & Kean's, subsequently Robert Bloor's, finest porcelain painters. In about 1820 he left and practised as a drawing master in the town. He died in Nottingham County Lunatic Asylum, Sneinton, Nottingham.
