SEVEN RECIPE, COMMONPLACE AND OTHER BOOKS AND ALBUMS comprising one apparently once the property of Lady Henry Threipland of Fingask Castle filled with recipes and remedies in various, mainly clear hands for, amongst many others, the cholera which inclues "thirty drops of laudanum", another to cure a cough, for pot pourri, for making orange basket jelly, Montrose ham, how to dress spinach, orange marmalade jelly and another "excellent for a dog", a similar smaller book of recipes, and a third slightly later, approx one third filled with recipes, a straight grained red morocco album of photographs mainly family portraits loosely tipped in but including 19th century views of Dursley Market Place and Hereford, albumen prints and several tintypes, endpaper dated 1871, a vellum bound commonplace book, the scrapbook of F J Osborn filled with wood engraved illustrations from The Illustrated London News and its contemporaries, c1855, the album of Caroline Eliza Hamilton Fortesque, silhouettes, one unmounted, stamped verso CUT WITH SCISSORS BY E WHITTLE 1832, watercolours of cut flowers, a butterfly, engravings, cuttings and copies from literature and a leather bound fishing record for Altnaharra, Sutherland, July 1895-June 1939 (8)
