A VICTORIAN "LANDAU" BABY CARRIAGE BY J W WHITBY, NOTTINGHAM, C1880-85 the coachbuilt body painted in "the new Art Shades of cinnamon brown, light and dark fawn and dark red" with deeply buttoned maroon leather interior, matching leather-cloth hood, spiral tubular brass collapsible brackets, turned beach handle, painted iron springs and solid rubber tyres to the 47 and 58cm wheels, 116cm l, sold with ten contemporary studio photographs (albumen prints) of similar and other baby carriages by the same dated 1885 in two frames and five showcards of J W Whitby's Safety Landau, the illustration differing only from the offered perambulator in the springs (8)
