A FINELY PIERCED AND ENGRAVED ENGLISH STEEL FOB SEAL, EARLY 18TH C the three sided matrix engraved with related shields of arms or crest, 4.3cm h, on an 18th c fob with further seal and two watch keys, one of articulated formThe triple seal is engraved with the arms of Sir John Stonhouse, 3rd Baronet (c1672-1733) and his second wife Penelope Dashwood whom he married in 1706.His aunt, Elizabeth Stonhouse married as her second husband the 3rd Lord Byron, the Poet's great, great grandfather. Stonhouse's paternal grandmother was a Lovelace, a connection that enabled Byron's son-in-law and therefore his daughter Ada Augusta Lovelace to adopt the earldom and become the Earl and Countess of Lovelace.
