A PLASTER BUST OF LORD BYRON AFTER EDWARD HODGES BAILY, RA, 19TH C on socle, bronze painted, 54cm hEdward Hodges Baily, RA (1788-1867) exhibited the original marble posthumous portrait bust of Byron at the Royal Academy in 1826. The bust is believed to have been presented to Harrow School in 1863. In 1827 Baily exhibited two further busts of Byron at the RBA, London, one of which may be that in the British Embassy in Athens (Government Art Collection No 15267).
